Flint clay is very good raw material of refractory castable and refractory brick, usually the content of Al2O3 is from 40-46%, the color is white.
Comparing to bauxite, the flint clay lower water absorption and higher stability, when making castable using flint clay, the required water is only 5%-6% by weight, if we use 60% Al2O3 bauxite, the required water is 9%-10% by weight.
