1 of 67 in the world, 1 of 2 in the USA, 1 of 1 unregistered.

A very special and rare modern BMW. The last naturally-aspirated M3 ever made. Essentially a sedan version of the Europe-only E92 M3 GTS, the M3 CRT uses the same engine as the GTS with 450 horsepower at 8,300 RPM and 324 lb-ft torque at 3,750 RPM. Top speed is limited to 180 mph and 0 to 62 mph comes in 4.4 seconds.

The car debuted BMW’s CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) technology, later to be seen on the i3 and i8, making it 70kg lighter than the regular E90 M3 sedan and giving it a full second advantage around Hockenheim (1:13.6 minutes).

All M3 CRTs were painted in Frozen Polar Silver with Melbourne Red accents and were largely hand-built alongside the E92 M3 GTS by select engineers at BMW M GmbH.

Other performance enhancements included 19 inch lightweight wheels, a set of more rigid sub-frames, individually-adjustable dampers and six-piston front brakes using calipers made of a special low-weight compound construction. The M3 CRT was also given a bespoke interior with front seats constructed of the same CFRP as the exterior panels and a plaque on the dashboard indicating the build number in the series of 67.

The M3 CRT was never sold in North America however this car has been federalized for Show & Display use, meaning it is fully legal to drive in 49 states (CA will require CARB certification) for up to 2,500 miles a year.

The most powerful, most rare and very last naturally-aspirated M3: a unique opportunity for the serious BMW collector.
